The Group is working on the design of a GRP modular building system and information about the progress on this is available in the form of a Research Document, which may be downloaded from this site The GRP components are manufactured using the continual profiling and pultrusion processes. The concept is to ensure that the units are lightweight, will not require permanent foundations and be thermally efficient with a minimum ten year service life. The design work continues and it is envisaged that these buildings will eventually be put into commercial production. Many of the techniques being developed are benefiting other products in the range – for example low carbon options. The group has lodged a number of patent applications involved with the system. The potential uses for this building unit are viewed as:-
