This seminar reviews GRP and its environmental credentials, covering aspects including manufacture, embodied energy and embodied CO₂, life cycle costs, recycling and waste management. It compares the safety and toxicity of GRP (FRP) with other construction materials in the context of roof drainage and addresses the environmental benefits and concerns of different roof coverings: GRP, hard metal, lead, single ply membrane and wet lay roofs. Case studies are used to demonstrate.

2. Seminar: GRP Roofing Systems and How They Differ

This seminar investigates what can be achieved with GRP roofing systems and how they differ from alternative roofing systems. It addresses material safety, installation of GRP roofing systems in new build and re-roofing for refurbishment. The seminar compares the features and benefits of different roofing materials, with particular attention to the requirements of roofing systems for heritage projects.

3. Seminar: Rooflights in the 21st Century for the Metal Building Envelope

This seminar explores the development of rooflights to date, addressing considerations when specifying rooflights, the innovations that are being implemented in practice and the economic and environmental benefits that accrue from these developments. With particular attention to the importance of natural light, safety improvements, legislative pressures and environmental concerns.
