An attractive new development of specialised apartments for over 55s which is part of the regeneration of North Solihull has been officially opened. Bellway Homes and WM Housing worked together as part of the North Solihull Partnership to create Fillingham Court in Chelmsley Wood a development of 40 one and two-bedroom apartments which were specifically designed to cater for the needs of over 55s.
The new apartments all feature flexible living space, including space to store wheelchairs and mobility scooters, separate living and dining rooms, and ample storage facilities. All of the apartments also include balconies. Fillingham Court features a communal space for residents to socialise in and for activities to take place in.
Hambleside Danelaw was delighted to be involved with the Dryseal specification development from design stage. National Dryseal Manager Andy Fell said “Our Approved Contractors Avonside Commercial & Industrial Roofing worked very closely with us on this project and have delivered a very high standard of finished work. This development is one of many on which we have worked in conjunction with Bellway, and is the second project over 1,000 m2 in the last five years”.
Paul Davies, Senior Contracts Manager at Avonside, commented: “Dryseal was the ideal product on this development due to the speed of installation and its robust nature to endure other trades walking on it daily. Its ease of laying and minimal training required for operatives makes it a cost effective product to add to our other systems. Several other advantages are that it is recognised as a suitable product to use instead of lead on heritage buildings and has a BBA allowing zero falls.”
Sales and Marketing Director for Bellway’s West Midlands division, Stephen Rose, said: “It was fantastic to see the apartments at Fillingham Court officially launched, and we’re proud to have played a part in the construction of the development. We’ve been a part of the North Solihull Partnership for 10 years now, and since then the area has changed dramatically. Fillingham Court is the latest example of how the partnership has created quality new homes which cater for the needs of the local community.”
“We’re delighted with the finished product, and hope the new residents enjoy living at the site.” Denise Shuker, Executive Director at WM Housing Group said: “We’re delighted to celebrate the continuing regeneration of North Solihull alongside our development partner Bellway. Fillingham Court has proved popular with people looking for high quality affordable homes in the area. Bellway has done a fantastic job delivering our project on time and on budget.”
Bellway is the commercial housing partner in the North Solihull Partnership, the group which has spearheaded the regeneration of the area, and has built hundreds of private and social homes since work began in 2005.
